Day 01 – Rainforest, Tea Estates & Remote Villages

• Morning Trek: Begin from Haputale, trekking through a protected rainforest to a scenic cliff with views of the colonial-era railway line used for transporting tea to Colombo.

• Tea Estate Walk: Continue parallel to the railway through misty tea estates and tunnels, followed by a forest path leading to a picnic meal at a scenic viewpoint.

• Cultural Interaction: Trek through a remote tea estate village, observing tea plucking and interacting with villagers originally brought from India. Small gifts (pens, candies, chocolates) are appreciated.

• Overnight Stay: Descend to a simple, clean home stay with breathtaking views. Enjoy warm tea upon arrival and a traditional Sri Lankan rice and curry dinner while hearing stories from the local hosts.

Day 02 – Horton Plains Trek & Scenic Hill Country Views

• Early Morning: Wake up at 6 AM to enjoy panoramic views of the mist-clad mountains with a cup of Ceylon tea.

• Trekking Through Tea Estates & Forests: Start trekking towards Horton Plains, passing through remote tea estates and forests with hidden scenic vistas.

• Horton Plains National Park: Embark on a 4-hour trek to explore World’s End, Baker’s Falls, and the chimney pools, the source of most major rivers in Sri Lanka.

• Meals: Picnic lunch served during the trek.

• Return & Overnight Stay: Transfer by vehicle to the home stay for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 03 – Devil’s Staircase, Waterfalls & Bambarakanda

• Morning: Enjoy breakfast and trek through a mountain cliff viewpoint and remote tea estate, interacting with villagers and their children.

• Devil’s Staircase: Traverse the narrow trail with three hairpin bends, offering captivating views.

• Lanka Falls: Stop for swimming and picnic lunch at the natural pool at the base of Lanka Falls.

• Bambarakanda Waterfall: Continue trekking to Sri Lanka’s highest waterfall, with optional access to the base for swimming.

• End of Trek: Meet your driver at the trail end for onward travel in Sri Lanka. Recommended rest in Haputale or Diyatalawa (45 minutes’ drive).
